New for 2023, Qualified Guides of the Nova Scotian Guides Service will be awarding qualifying anglers the title of Osprey. The Osprey is Nova Scotia's Provincial Bird and is renowned as a skilled fisher.

Anglers qualifying for this award receive a certificate indicating that they have caught one of the largest of its species within Nova Scotia. Ospreys will have the memory of their catch and a beautiful, suitable-for-framing certificate to display in their home or office.

Qualified Guides are insured, trained in first-aid and hold Nova Scotia Guide Licences.

Qualifying fish are in the top 1% of their species based on Provincial record data and the knowledge base of NSGS guides.
